Events

I have participated in many events over many years as a performer, promoter, participant, organizer and booster. The one that encompasses all of those and more is Baltimore Jam. Baltimore Jam is actually a series of events that spawned a community around 1960’s R&B music in Baltimore, MD. It is a creation of myself and a friend, from concept through 5 live events, supported by a website and blog that I built and maintain. I also maintain and utilize a 300 address bulk email list.

As part of the marketing of Silver Lake Village Condominiums, I participated in the creation, promotion and execution of two community events: The Salo Park Entertainment Series and the Salo Park Art Fair. I also played bass in one of the performance groups.

Outdoor Advertising

The concept for this billboard came from a marketing meeting where two things were acknowledged: 1.) signs are our most effective tool in attracting people to our property; 2.) we should have an authoritative spokesman for our marketing message.

For the first we went with the largest sign possible, a billboard, located right at the freeway exit to our property. For the second we chose Benjamin Franklin to deliver our message, and chose me to portray him. This proved very successful, the billboard was renewed several times, and the Ben Franklin brand was continued throughout our advertising.

Musical Performance

I play trombone and bass and am a member of the Twin Cities Musicians Union, local #30-73 of the American Federation of Musicians. Besides odd jobs here and there, I play in two bands on a regular basis: a traditional Dixieland band called Band of Praise, and a jazz big band called Just Friends Big Band. The best way to learn about these groups and my role in them is to visit their websites. I also built and maintain these sites, so they are additional examples of my work in that area.
